Salmon & Sea Trout Fishing
- Wonderful fishing in beautiful, easy to access surroundings -
Kinkell Fishings is a two mile beat of Salmon and Sea Trout fishing on the picturesque and highly accessible River Earn.
ALL YEAR ROUND FISHING
Kinkell offers Salmon, Sea Trout, Grayling and Trout fishing. The Salmon and Sea Trout season runs from February 1st with fresh fish running right from the start of the season; Fish in excess of 30lbs have been recorded at that time.
The River Earn, of which Kinkell forms a part of, is renowned in Scotland for having one of the most prolific Sea Trout runs with these being most abundant from May onwards.
Grayling fishing is also available and is very popular throughout the winter months from November 1st through to January 31st.
Kinkell offers both bank fishing and wading, with the preferred fishing method being the fly.
THE BEAT AT KINKELL
The beat comprises 32 named pools, providing an exceptional variety of fly water but at certain heights of water, spinning is allowed.
The beat is split into the Upper and Lower sections, with 16 pools on each. The beat is fished by 8 rods on a rotational basis with 4 rods on each section, swapping over at lunch time, allowing each rod an opportunity to fish any part of the fishings in one day.
The beat has excellent vehicular access, preventing the need to walk long distances to gain access to the pools and in the main very easy wading.
Tutoring for novice anglers and tackle hire is available.
