The Game Chef Hunt
An exciting new competition launched by the British Game Alliance for under 21’s that love cooking with Game
William Powell Sporting is delighted to announce an exciting new competition launched by the British Game Alliance for under 21’s that love cooking with game – or indeed those who wish to use Lockdown to learn how to cook game. The ‘Game Chef Hunt’ competition aims to showcase and celebrate great game recipes and talent of young people, running from 6th January through to 10th February.
The Ingredients:
Entries can be any game dish, fur or feather, that you love to cook and eat at home. If relevant and with the shoot and Head Keeper’s permission, please let the BGA know the name of the shoot that you enjoy going to most, as a gun, beater, or picking up with your dogs, along with the name of the shoots’ Headkeeper, again with their permission – as they will win a prize alongside the winning entrant.
The Method:
To enter, post a picture of your competition dish, outlining the key ingredients used on any the following platforms: Instagram, Facebook or Twitter, tagging @williampowellsporting @Britishgamealliance, @DylanPressendye and @RachelCarrieHunting. The closing date for entries is 10th February 2021. Alternatively, entries can be emailed directly to info@Britishgamealliance.co.uk
The Winning Dish:
The top three entries will be contacted for more details of the dish and how it is prepared and presented. The winner will be decided by the three judges – Liam Stokes CEO of the BGA, Michael Robinson, the renowned chef and owner of The Woodsman, The Elder and joint owner of Michelin starred Harwood Arms restaurants and Rachel Carrie, keen country sportswoman, author and passionate advocate of game, will jointly announce the winner on social media on Saturday 13th February.
The winner will receive a huge prize consisting of:
- • Their dish will be the featured recipe in an issue of Fieldsports Journal
- • A 2-hour shooting lesson for two people courtesy of Dylan Williams at The Royal Berkshire Shooting School
- • A cheque for £250.00 presented by Pressendye Limited
- • A Schoffel Gilet
- • A ‘Game and Gatherings’ Game Cookbook signed by the author, Rachel Carrie
- • A copy of the leather-bound Fieldsports Compendium Vol 1
The two runners up will each receive a Schoffel Gilet and a year’s subscription to Fieldsports Journal. Finally, the Gamekeeper and Shoot associated with the winning entry will enjoy a year’s subscription to Fieldsports Journal. Entries close February 10th so, “game” on and let the hunt commence!
